More on Polyurethane Screen Media

Polyurethane screen media is typically best suited to wet processing applications. However, since the introduction of polyurethane modular systems, the use of polyurethane as screening media has increased in popularity due to the handleability, durability and ease of maintenance.

Depending on the type of screen media, apertures are either moulded or punched. Shapes include square (the most common), circular, or rectangular (transverse or longitudinal). The optimal shape is selected to deliver the best performance for each specific application.

SCS has an extensive mould library which covers apertures from 0.3mm up to 125mm. Aperture shape is most commonly square but round or rectangular (transverse or longitudinal) apertures are also available, the type of aperture is usually determined by the screen media’s duty.

For specific modular system applications SCS has different mould designs, dependent on the application and customer requirements:

•HE – High Efficiency, maximise throughput (greater open area)

•STD – Standard, good compromise of wear and efficiency

•HW – High Wear, increased module life and reduce cost (lower open area)
