Extraflex rubber screen cloths are a specialised type of screen media. It is used predominantly to combat the issue of blinding or pegging, in applications such as dust screening. Each cloth is individually designed to suit the machine and application. Extraflex screen cloths can be side or end tensioned.
An Extraflex screen cloth is made up of two layers; the top layer is normally made from 40 shore hardness rubber between 3mm and 6mm thick, with the desired apertures punched in it. As it has no cord reinforcement it is incredibly flexible.
SCS also offer a Polyflex mat which is similar in construction to Extraflex, but with the top layer being made of polyurethane in 2mm to 5mm thickness. Although reducing the flexibility of the top layer the polyurethane has a high wear resistant properties. This inherently improves the strength of the screen cloth.
