Self supporting panels are utilised in the heavy duty end of screening applications. They particularly lend themselves to scalping operations, gabion stone or armour stone.
Rubber self supporting panels are bespoke to each application and designed to suit the screen. They are normally constructed from a laser cut steel plate. The thickness of the plate can vary from 5mm to 10mm thick with a 20mm to 50mm cut and wear resistant rubber bonded to it. Both the steel and rubber will have aperture cut or punched into them. When bonded together these must align to form the finished product.
Self supporting panels are quite often held in place by being bolted down to the screen frame or through another heavy duty clamping system.
