Skirt rubber is a flexible strip of rubber that lines the sides and edges of conveyor belts, chutes or transfer points. Its main purpose is to contain and guide material, preventing spillage and reducing dust. By sealing the gap between the conveyor belt and the structure, it ensures that bulk material stays on the belt and moves efficiently to the next stage of the process.
It also reduces wear and tear on both the belt and the supporting structure. It absorbs impact from falling material, protects sidewalls, and prevents damage to sensitive components. Additionally, it helps maintain a clean operation, reducing material build up and minimising maintenance needs.
